Info About Me
This section is devoted to giving you
a brief summary of myself.
My full name is Joshua Gille Benner; the "Gille" is my mother's maiden name. My parents gave this middle name to me because my mother's parents (making them my grandparents) didn't have any male children, thus having no men to carry on the name "Gille." Currently, I'm fourteen years old (born on October 8th, 1983), turning fifteen this year in October.
School
I attend Upper Bucks Christian
School, a fundamental, Bible believing school founded by Bethel Baptist
Chruch. I just graduated from 8th grade, and, when school starts up again
in September, I'll be entering 9th grade. This is a bit scary for me because
my GPA starts this upcomming year, and I start deciding what the rest of
my academic and potential career will be like. It's also going to be an
extremely new experience, because the schedule is a Senior High schedule,
and Iactually get to pick my own courses now. Another reason this
school year will be interesting is because of the fact that I'm trying
out for the Soccer team in August... if Imake the team, it will be
my rookie year, in any school sport. I'm hoping all goes well there...
I'm hoping all goes well everywhere.
Home
Of all the things I treasure
most, my home ranks high up there.
I live in Quakertown,Pennsylvania (50 miles north-west of Philadelphia)
in a meduim sized blue house along side Allentown Rd. I'm privilaged enough
to have my own room(and believe me, that's a BIGprivilage),
as is my little sibling, Tim. My room is my favorite part of the house,
no doubt, because it is what Imake it. I have to take care of it,
and that makes me appreciate it more... and it also has the best computer
system in the house in a big wall unit.
Another thing that makes my home special, is how close it is to my relatives.
My grandparents (mother's side) live next door, and my Aunt (mother's sister)
and Uncle live on the other side of my Grandparents. My father's side lives
a bit farther away, but they are easily reachable.
Hobbies
I have a few hobbies worth mentioning, the largest of which is Computers. Computers consule large amounts of my time, as Idive deeper into computer knowledge and use. At the rate my comptuer skills are going right now, computers have real potential to become my career path. Ido a wide variety of things on my computer, including:Games (like any other teenager), programming, internet surfing, web page design (obviously), school work, and graphics. Ialso occationaly build computers for others, and help many get the best computer system or parts prices available on the market (none illegal).
Another hobby that Ienjoy is
collecting Star Trek related things such as posters, minature ships, models,
PlayMates collectables, and general Star Trek knowledge. Some people find
it odd when they realize how much Ilike Star Trek, and how much I
know about it. When I think about it, I also realize that the amount of
time I put into Star Trek is probably rediculous, and won't help me in
life at all... but I've already determined that Star Trek HAS helped me...
every so slightly. Star Trek tought me the metric system, when nobody else
could. Star Trek gave me an insight into military command structure, because
Star Trek command structure is identical to US Navy command structure.
Believe it or not, Star Trek has had a posative, whether great or small,
impact on my life.
I'm not really sure if you can call
this a hobby, but I'd like to include it in the hobby section. This hobby
of mine is acting. I absolutely LOVEto act and perform in front of
people. At the beginning of last school year, Iwouldn't have dreamed
of being able to do the things that Inow do. Itook Junior High
Speech last year in school, and Mr. Miller (the speech teacher) showed
me how to let go of my self-consciousness, and perform well in front of
an audience. Iwent to KCEA (Keystone Christian Education Association...
I think) Fine Arts competition in group acting, and my group recieved a
Superior rating (highest possible) for our performance of a clipping from
"Murder Most Fouled Up." During the preparation of that performance,
things about acting started to click with me, and I really started to understand
what it takes. I'm hoping that next year in school (my 9th grade year),
I'll be able to get a part in the annual school dramatic production (the
school play).
